Wanderlust Wednesday #3

Hi everyone,

Pictures -paper, plastic or on a phone- one thing I love about them is that feeling of being transported to some point in time. For me, my pictures are often a reminder of good times (some of them, amidst the bad). I’d be sad if I lost the opportunity to return to those memories so that’s why I have back ups for my back ups. (Phone falls in water, okay, pictures are on iCloud AND Google Photos) 😄.<<
e other night I was scrolling through my Instagram page and stumbled on this picture. It reminded me of a place I’ve really been wanting to visit. At the time I posted that photo, I just wanted to close my eyes and wake up in a gondola, glass of wine in hand while someone plays something romantic on a violin. If you haven’t already guessed, I was dreaming of Venice, Italy (still am) and here’s why:

pexels-photo-67946< strong>What I want to do : 1). Buy some wine to take on an evening gondola ride in the canals that Venice is famous for. Now that I think of it, it wouldn’t be such a bad idea to move to Venice and own a gondola that I can take out whenever I want! Maybe one day? 2). Walk across and view Venice from the Ponte dell’Academia bridge. 3). Simply explore the city (sights, cuisine, repeat).

Rialto Bridge; preferably at night. 2). St Mark’s Basilica – because I’m a sucker for beautiful architecture. 3). Ca’d’Oro (Golden House); it’s a centuries old palace AND an art museum. Sign me up!. I’ve never been to a palace, but Venice seems like a great place to start.

nice is one of those cities whose pictures make you wish you could step right into them. The scenery and stunning architecture draw you in both emotionally and physically. I am shamelessly sold on the magic of Venice and I cannot wait to plan a trip in the near future.

If you've already been to Venice, please leave me a comment to let me know how you spent your time there and what you would recommend I do, see and EAT!. What do you guys think about Venice? Where are you dreaming of today?

Until next Wednesday guys, keep dreaming. < strong>Thanks for reading!< strong>Photos : Google Images < em>Postscript: A few towns in central Italy have suffered from a devastating earthquake. My prayers go out to anyone in this beautiful region who is affected.
